Updated: 02/25/2005
Name: Michael Pare

Claim To Fame: Michael Pare is probably best known for
his role as Eddie in the movie "Eddie & The Cruisers."

Marjolein (1992 - present) 1 child
Marisa Roebuck (1986 - 1988) (divorced)

Has three brothers and six sisters. His father, who died of
leukemia when Michael was about 5 years old, was French-Canadian and his mother

on the first season of the popular TV series "The Greatest
American Hero" (1981). He was one of the students.
He made his big-screen debut two years later as a rock singer in Eddie and the
Cruisers and then reprising the role for a less-
successful 1989 sequel.
I have to admit I thought this guy was going to be a superstar. He had the looks
and could play a tough guy role or a role that showed vulnerability. But it
never came to be. Despite some big-budgeted efforts, like, "The Philadelphia
Experiment" and Walter Hill's "Streets of Fire" he failed to join the ranks of
big-screen action heroes.
Trivia: Michael studied at the Culinary
School of America and was working as a chef when his he got discovered, first
for some modeling work then later acting.
Trained with acting guru Uta Hagen in the early 80s.
Was on the wrestling team in high school.
Has made a lucrative living appearing on the side in Japanese
commercials and in print ads.
Where Is He Now: Still extremely active in acting he's got a
few projects coming out this year. He has created quite a niche for himself as the star of modestly budgeted straight-to-video action films.
