Where Is She Now: Karen Valentine (Actress) as Alice - Room 222.
Updated: 10/16/2005
Name: Karen Valentine
Born: May 25, 1947 in Sebastopol, California
Claim To Fame: Probably most remembered for her role in Room 222. If my memory serves correct, she was first a student then returned as a teach. Anyone remember this?
Family Life: Gary Verna (1977 - present)
Carl MacLaughlin (1969 - 1973) (divorced)
Info: She made her debut on the series Dream Girl of '67 in 1967. In 1969 she starred in her best remembered role as Alice Johnson in Room 222. She had her own short-lived series in 1975 called "Karen" She starred in 'The Girl Who Came Gift-Wrapped' with Farrah Fawcett in 1974.
Trivia: She was a contestant on "Miss Teenage America" and when Ed Sullivan saw her talent he called in and said, "I want that girl on my show."
She was the Apple Blossom Queen of Sebastopol, California when she was a teenager.
Worked as a model, waitress and switchboard operator.
Where Is She Now: Karen is still acting most recently she's been hitting the small theater
arena. She was in a
production
of "Steel Magnolias" in 2003 and got very good reviews.
Also still doing a little TV work. Some episodic roles and the occasional made
for TV role.
It's the same Hollywood story... She would love to be in more stuff, but too few
roles are being offered to her. Tough getting roles when you're over 50 AND a
woman. And with Karen I think she has an even more difficult time, because most
remember her as the perky, young girl.
